The organisation hopes to bring singers from Dili, Maliana, Natarbora and Lacluta to the Bega Valley for concerts and performances.
A fundraising concert will be held at the Mumbulla School hall in Bega from 2pm on Sunday, November 4, with seven choirs from the Bega Valley performing.
Performing on the day will be Heartsong Choir, That Bunch of Singers, The Bega Street Choir, Spirit Allegro, The Friday Choir, The Bega Valley Youth Choir and the Belun Malu Choir.
“It promises to be a wonderful afternoon of singing,” organiser Tim Holt said.
The planned 2020 tour will be led by Ego Lemos with choir master Paolo Pereria.
A Bega Valley choir will launch the project with a tour of East Timor in July next year.
