Tree Time Stories is a 26-minute expose of the Gulaga region and winner of the Mindfield Film Festival in 2016.
It features Indigenous elder Uncle Max Harrison and explores the hidden meanings that nature reveals through a strong connection with the Australian bushland.
Then director David Gallan will talk about issues facing Australia’s forests before a screening of a 38-minute version of his film Understorey.
Produced in partnership with the National Parks Association, this film is a reflection of the fight for the South East Forests through the end of the 20th Century.
It uses many different historical photos and film formats woven together to great effect.
The event is an opportunity to meet the diverse range of people working together to create a future of “grand stately forests” in the Eurobodalla and beyond.
Films for the Forest will be at Narooma Kinema, Narooma on Thursday, October 25. Nibbles and drinks are from 6.30pm while films and talks are from 7pm.
Tickets are $15/$10.
It is presented by those supporting Corunna State Forest. Donations towards food, drinks and campaign costs are welcome.
Residents have called for an immediate end to logging operations at Corunna State Forest, which links the sacred Gulaga Mountain to the ocean.
