Saturday will see Bega/Angledale take on Pambula at George Griffin Oval.

Bermagui, coming off a 44 run defeat at the hands of Mallacoota despite a knock of 97 by number three batsman Ben Tett, will play Wolumla at Bermagui’s Dickinson Oval.  

Wicketkeeper Tett fell just short of the competition’s first century of the season after being caught by Armstrong off the bowling of Nelson.

Tett hit 11 fours and one maximum, and was supported by opening batsman Liam Cooper (46).

Bermagui were sitting nicely at 2/190 chasing Mallacoota’s 5/266 from their 40 overs, before losing the next six wickets for just 32 runs, finishing on 8/222 from their allotted 40 overs.

Eden play Mallacoota Cricket Club in Mallacoota and Merimbula will battle South Eurobodalla at Berrambool Sportsground.

Last season’s champions Tathra will face a hungry Kameruka side at Lord’s View Oval.

Tathra president Adam Blacka said the Sea Eagles will be cautious of the Kameruka attack which features the likes of Jack Matthews and Jay Stanford.

The 2018/19 sees ten teams feature in Division 1, with newly promoted teams like Kameruka and Wolumla looking to stamp their names on the competition.

Merimbula and Mallacoota sit on top of the ladder with 12 points each, while Bega/Angledale, South Eurobodalla, Eden, Kameruka, Tathra and Wolumla sit on six points apiece after last weekend’s washouts.

Players are also being asked to nominate themselves for the South East combined Far South Coast Cricket Association and Monaro District Cricket Association side. 

Successful players may be selected in the Southern Districts side to play the ACT in Canberra.

The squads will be selected by Boyd Brennan, Adam Blacka and Charles Aggenbach.
