Mr Roberts will remain on the board until a suitable replacement with “new insights and experiences” is found, the company said in an announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange said on Wednesday.
“Mr Roberts has been director of Bega Cheese from before its IPO in 2011 and has moved from farmer and farmer director to independent director, bringing his skills as a farmer and businessman and past president of Dairy Australia,” the company said.
the company’s executive chairman Barry Irvin said he would say more on Mr Roberts’ contribution to the board once a new director has been appointed.
