Roof for homeless
There are many unused buildings around Bega that could easily solve the homeless problem. The unused motel at North Bega, the unused hospital, Casuarina Nursing Home and all the holiday units.

These units should be available for lease on a longer term instead of being locked up most of the year while people are sleeping on the street and being negative geared to the owner.
It makes you feel embarrassed to see this going on, compulsive greed and government not trying to solve the problem with simple solutions.
Why can't the local council change the rules and allow holiday units to be rented on a longer term agreement and at least give some of these less fortunate people a place to call home.

Giiyong thanks
Congratulations must go to the organisers of the festival at Jigamy. All the entertainers, volunteers and vendors are to be thanked for their efforts.

Stealing the rain
Stop stealing our clouds ASAP. This is no joke and it should not be allowed.
To shoot silver iodine out of snow guns from the top of Thredbo leaves us down here with 90-120kmh westerly winds.
They call it a low pressure – we see the clouds but no rain for us.
Not to mention the chemical they put in to make it rain every year for 16 years. Check out the fake green in Tasmania – they have seeded for over 50 years.
We farmers in the South-East are walking off land and selling cattle cheap. The suicide rate is high. The bushfires. Land prices are low.
Take a look at the Snowies right down to the Victorian border – it’s fake green. Look at thie total of rain. Do you see what I mean?
More dams, more seeding. This planet belongs to everything that’s living and it all started on Gondwanaland once. Introduced perhaps!
There are also people with no conscience reckoning the brumbies are making a mess. The truth is they are in the scientists’ way.
Look back and read the signs. I want my rain back ASAP.

Insist logging stops
It is time to stand up and ask why Forestry Corp brought the Corunna harvest forward. We insist logging be stopped due to this outrageous lack of consultation.
Bega MP Andrew Constance has failed the community, with no acknowledgement of more than 4000 signatures requesting he prevent the harvest of Corunna Forest.
Mr Constance did not respond to important questions raised at the public meeting he called in August, such as why years of breaches by Forest Corp contractors collect dust on the desk of the EPA.
The people want logging to stop and this forest established as a nature reserve.
The Native Title claimants for this culturally significant land (lodged 2017), have made it clear they will establish a reserve when the land is placed under their management. What a loss this would be if these majestic tress are logged before this claim is settled.
Forestry estimates most of the trees they are taking to be at least 100 years old.
Will every hollow bearing tree be retained? Will dangerous machinery be left unattended, when fires are on our doorstep? Will anyone respond to the water quality studies raising questions on the tendency for toxic algal bloom and fish kills?
How does forestry plan to protect threatened birds and the square raspwort when the obligations are outsourced to the contractors, and spotters send ahead to look for important protected species 100m ahead of the harvesters?
