The camp has been running for 10 years, with artistic director Geoffrey Badger saying the original aim of the camp was to provide a chance for local musicians to play as an ensemble.
“That drives you forward and keeps you going; it’s hard to keep going if you are just practicing by yourself,” he said.
Mr Badger said the best part of the camp was watching professional musicians play alongside complete beginners as well as watching young players shine when put into leadership roles.
On Friday, October 5 from 2.30pm at Mumbulla School, Bega the camp’s participants will hold a concert with three string groups, two bands and the camp orchestra featuring music from film scores to the classics.
Entry is by donation.
