The main message will be “Keep Tathra Cool”, then underneath will be “decrease CO2” – with “decrease” comprised of a downward arrow filled with fire trucks – and below that will be “climate action now”.
Speaking on Monday, CEFE founder and president Matthew Nott said the organising had been going well and everything was under control.
“Tathra Public School came up with ‘Keep Tathra Cool’,” he said.
“We are trying to give students a voice.”
He said when plans were being made for the Clean Energy For Eternity human sign on Tathra Beach in 2006, they were approached by a student from Bega High School who suggested they also make a sign out of the word “imagine”.
This had become an enduring legacy for CEFE and the region, Dr Nott said, as at Tathra’s sewage treatment plant – which was Australia’s first community-owned solar farm - solar panels were organised to spell out the word.
The human sign is being organised for Sunday, September 30. Those interested are asked to meet at Lawrence Park, Tathra at 11.30am.
Bega Valley band The Figmentz will perform, as well as bagpipe players and taiko drummers.
