The service is a time for the public to show their appreciation of the men an women who are the first responders to an accident, a break-in, a domestic problem, the arresting of a person on drugs.
They are also the person who knocks on your door delivering bad news. All this is done in the line of duty where they place themselves in danger without a second thought.
This is a time when the general public should fill St John’s to the rafters in a show of thanks for these men and women.
