After almost 20 years volunteering with the Bega Visitor Information Centre, Russell Henry has decided to step down from his role.

He first started 18 years ago after moving to the area.
“It was a new town, new place and I had the time,” he said.
Some of his fondest memories were of the people he worked with and the tourists he met.
“Some of the tourists that come in, you didn’t want them to go,” Mr Henry said.
He said when you volunteer you get a different outlook on the whole of life.
“You get to learn there are so many different people who make up the world,” the Bega resident said.
For now, he plans to spend his time in his garden as well as read books.
“What comes up next week comes up next week,” he said.
