The reserves had been running second through most of the competition, but were relegated to third as the Pambula Panthers built a strong run.
The Panthers went on to claim a grand final spot, downing the Merimbula Diggers and the Sea Eagles have now backed up to down the Diggers for the first time this season and advance.
The Sea Eagles managed a 9-6-60 to 6-3-39 result over the Merimbula outfit on the Pambula Sporting Complex on Saturday.
Front man Adam Blacka provided the good at the goal square, kicking six majors, while Zac Harlow contributed well with three majors to his name.
Tathra surged out of the blocks to lead 14-7 at the first break, but extended to a 40-13 advantage by half-time.
Aidyn Snow had been Merimbula’s best in front of the posts with four goals.
Meanwhile, the women’s fixture came down to a mere seven points as the Eaglettes snuck past the Pambula Panthers.
Pambula kicked two goals to one in the opening quarter to lead 12-6, but Tathra trailed by a single behind at the main break 13-12.
Tathra’s four goals had come from four individual kickers, while two of Pambula’s three were claimed by Kiarna Woolley-Blain in a good show at the front.
The Panthers fought back to the front in the third quarter, but a handy pair of goals in the final period gave the Eaglettes the edge.
The grand final is in Narooma on Saturday.
