The bowls day is one of the primary fundraisers for the local group working to support present and past players and their families within the rugby league community.
Organisers had scheduled the event to run on September 1, but were forced to postpone once they were made aware of conflicts with other events like the Bike Show in town on the day.
The bowls day has proven extremely popular among local club people as they are able to play out club allegiances in a totally different environment on the lawn bowling green.
And Hedley Lucas says it is open to everyone with much of the role of the Men of League Foundation being mateship and a social avenue for anyone experiencing any hardships to get out and catch up with friends in a positive environment.
Previously held in Merimbula, the bowls day has shifted to the Bega greens the last couple of years and has been helping raise about $1000 a year towards helping those in the community.
Mr Lucas said the organisers would love to see a few more take part as it’s a social outing to help raise money for a good cause.
Everyone is welcome, men and women, young and old; anyone involved in rugby league at all is encouraged to take part.
Entries are $20 per person for a round of triples lawn bowling and a barbecue lunch included on the day.
The new date is yet to be finalised, but will be soon. Anyone looking to join should contact Geoff Lucas on 0427 201 067 or email farsouthcoast@menofleague.com.
