Tanja Public School celebrated Book Week 2018 on Wednesday with pupils, staff, parents and community members getting into character and sharing their favourite reads.
Books are awesome because they give you information about stuff, and there’s so many different kinds.

Year 2 pupil Loki Morandini shared his love for all things fantasy and science fiction.
“I like exciting books,” he said.
Fellow Year 2 pupil Ryan McCulloch said he enjoys learning as much as he can from books.
“Reading books helps you to write, and it’s good for you,” he said.
Dressed as The Man From Snowy River alongside his dad Tim, pupil Sunny Risby said he enjoys the wide variety of genres books offer children.
“Books are awesome because they give you information about stuff, and there’s so many different kinds,” he said.
Tanja resident and children’s book author Jane Gordon visited the school to read her newly released tale Charley Goes Out.
Parents and community members also shared their favourite childhood books, many bringing back emotional childhood memories.
Book dioramas were also on display, and a treasure hunt in acknowledgment of the week’s theme of Find Your Treasure.
