On its website the NSE Rural Fire Service said the fire was moving in a north-easterly direction towards Brogo under strong south-westerly winds.
The service said if you are in Brogo and surrounding areas - including Desert Creek Rd, Hawks Head Rd and Dorrigo Rd – you should check and follow your bush fire survival plan.
If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving early is your safest option.
However the fire remained at an Advice alert level.
