Bemboka bushfire increases to cover 4000ha by Friday

The bushfire that began off Yankees Gap Rd near Bemboka covered 4000ha by Friday morning and has so far destroyed two houses.

While it was still considered out of control, the NSW Rural Fire Service continued to classify it under an Advice alert level, continuing on from the previous afternoon.

The weather conditions were much more favourable for firefighters on Friday, with wind speeds topping 6km/h in the early hours of the morning and vanishing later in the day.

Those battling to save properties and land after the fire started on Wednesday morning faced challenging conditions, including strong winds and dry land as it spread into Wadbilliga National Park.
