According to trust member Shannon Brennan, the popular reserve has over three kilometres of walking trails, and almost 98 per cent of the vegetation was severely damaged by the fire.
“As a result (of the fire) infrastructure in the reserve was lost, including signage, parking areas, seating, steps, a lookout and boardwalks,” Ms Brennan said.
The trust, who voluntarily manage the land on behalf of Crown Lands, have been working to also remove damaged trees which may be a risk to walkers, who are advised to avoid the area until the rebuild is complete.
The trust’s chair Michael Marshman said working bees will be held after some rebuild work is complete.
