The under 16s faced Merimbula, while the other three grades all fronted up against the Pambula Penguins with some mixed results. 

The under 12s locked in the minor premiership, winning in a convincing fashion 10-0 over Pambula and are now set to face off against close rivals Bega in the major semi-final. 

Tathra coach Dan Bakker said it was unforgiving win for Tathra with a full team and ample subs keeping the juniors fresh. 

Tathra mirrored a defensive four with a four-strong attacking roster as Pambula’s structure fell, but Mr Bakker said his own midfield had crumbled after being over-confident. 

“However the visitors failed to capitalize on this flaw only to take the ball into our goal box a handful of times,” he said. 

Now on the giving and receiving end of 10-0 results, Mr Bakker said the United 12s have been able to adapt to the full gamut of play. 

“Every player has found their niche on the fields yet has also evolved to contribute their own flair and superpower to create a team that is uniquely Tathra’s and thus a premiership contender.  Look out finals an here-we-come 2019.”

In the 16s, Tathra won 5-2, but interestingly officials said Tathra scored all seven-goals. 

The team trailed 2-0 by error of two own-goals, but returned after a positive half-time talk to flip the game around and kick five goals. 

Nicholas Fantham halved the deficit then Alex Mozina levelled but Marley McCabe closed it out with a hat-trick. 

The Tathra 16s finished third on the ladder and will play Mallacoota in the minor semi-final. 

the semi-finals will be held on Sunday 26th August, followed by the Preliminary Finals on Sunday 2nd September and the Grand Finals on Sunday 9th September.

Tathra’s reserves rallied to a close 1-1 draw with Pambula after trailing 1-0 at the break. 

A great goal was scored by Duncan Weber – who was backing up from the under 16s - to level the scores in the second half. 

Tathra’s first grade outfit also played Pambula, but the Penguins got to a 1-0 lead early. 

Tathra worked their way back into the game, found their passing rhythm and scored the equalizer after a nice passing move found Sam Collins in space to power home. Tathra rallied, but couldn’t finish a couple of chances, while Pambula scored two goals in the second half for the 3-1 win. 

The club is seeking interest from men’s and ladies players to grow the club next year. 

The Tathra United Football Club Presentation Day will be on Saturday 1st September 2018 from 3:30pm at the Country Club for seniors and juniors with a dinner after.
