Bega Valley Shire Council said at last week’s Tathra recovery meeting it was announced 15 new Janome sewing machines had been donated to the community by St Vincent de Paul through Country Crafts and Cottons.

Danni Koenigkamp and Paul and Fran Sorensen from Vinnies delivered the machines to Caralyn Naylor from council along with a stack of blankets which were created and donated by Bundaberg Blanket Buddies in Queensland.

Also, council said Quarterdeck Narooma recently made a donation of 70 $100 vouchers. 

All the donations are being distributed to those who lost their homes in the fire through the Recovery Support Service (RSS).

While the new sewing machines have already been handed out, the support service still has some second hand machines available.
