Playing host to the tri-colours in both reserves and league-tag, the hosts ended up on the receiving end of two bruising results the club will be happy to see the back of.
In reserve grade, the Roosters continued their run at the top of the tables, finishing with a comfortable 46-12 scoreline, while the Pink Panthers fell to a 48-0 thumping by the Bega Chicks.
A spokesperson for the Panthers said the result wasn’t from a lack of trying by the home club, who completed their sets in both the league-tag and reserve fixtures.
However, it was just extremely difficult to stop the freight-train of momentum the Roosters built on the back of early points in both encounters.
In the reserve grade it was the Panthers who struck first when Sam Rogers found the line with Alex Cochrane slotting the conversion to lead 6-0.
However, the spokesperson said the Bega quicks were soon running rampant and cutting deep incisions in the Panthers’ defensive lines.
Trent Galli opened up with an early double before winger Eric Fuller found the line and then Dylan Londero kept the hurt coming as the Roosters surged to a 20-6 lead at the break.
Galli capped off a hat-trick in the second half.
But the Roosters weren’t done there as they piled on the hurt with tries coming through for Alexander Eadie, Lee Fuller, Kyle Britten and Tom Picker.
Candelo-Bemboka’s second four-pointer came through Bradley Menz-Danvers, while Cochrane made no mistake with two from two on his conversion efforts.
The ladies encounter had been a similar scenario with the Chicks just getting an edge early and not easing up throughout.
Sister duo Jacinta and Aleesha Dummett were among the best for the Chicks scoring early tries, while Joccoaa Rogers also claimed an early try and dominated the game with an accurate boot.
Tarah Lloyd closed the scoring in the first half with Ali Ringland adding the extras as the Chicks had taken a commanding 30-0 lead by the break.
Jacinta Dummett scored a further two times in the second half to close the game with four tries to her name.
The Chicks also commended Hayley Jessop who crossed in the second half and Eboni Lloyd who also kicked a conversion on the day.
The results firm up the Chicks’ position at third on the competition table, sitting equal on points with the Eden-Mer-Pam combine.
Meanwhile, the Roosters reserves are holding down top of the table and the Panthers have slipped to sixth place on the ladder.
