Competition should be fierce with most clubs coming off a school holiday bye giving them the chance to rest any niggling mid-season injuries.
It is looking like a two-horse race in first grade between the Bega Devils and the Wolumla Tigers, but the other grades are wide open for clubs to make a late surge to the finals.
In the top grade, the Devils were able to leapfrog the Tigers on the back of their 2-1 win over Merimbula, and this weekend they’ll be looking to build on that momentum when they visit Tathra to play United.
Meanwhile, the Tigers, will be hungry to reclaim the top spot when they host the third-placed Merimbula Grasshoppers at Wolumla on Sunday.
The Tigers are runaway leaders in the reserve grade competition, five points clear of the Grasshoppers.
However, just one competition point separates second place to fifth on the ladder with Eden and Bega White looking to give the leaderboard a shake up.
Despite a strong goal-kicking ability, the Braves have fallen victim to some poor discipline and a points-strip that has them seven competition points further back.
The club already caused one upset against the Tigers and will look to do so again when they travel to Wolumla on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the White Devils will have to face their own when they take on the Bega Red outfit at home.
Following a loss to the Penguins, Tathra have slumped to the bottom of the table and will not see finals play, but will look for some good late round results when they host Merimbula.
In the ladies draw, Eden have emerged as the standouts, running equal with Wolumla for most of the season until the Killer Whales scraped a 3-2 result in their recent clash.
Wolumla are comfortably second, while the Bega She-Devils are just one point out of the top four and will be looking for a win when they face Mallacoota this weekend.
