“There’s probably about 40,000 books at the moment,” the club’s treasurer Charlie Blomfield said.
“They’re coming out of our ears!”
Speaking on Thursday afternoon during the set up for the event, he said the preparations were coming along reasonably well.
“We’ve still got a lot of boxes on the floor as we haven’t got enough room to put them,” he said.
“We don’t have enough room in the hall for the number of books we have.”
This year the proceeds of the event will go towards the Tathra bushfire recovery effort and the community carers accommodation.
The book fair will be open on July 6 and 7 from 9am to 5pm and on July 8 from 9am to 1pm at the Bega Showground pavilion, selling a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books.
Entry is by gold coin donation and eftpos is available. You can fill a bag for $50.
