The Red Energy logo will feature on all Monaro Academy representative jerseys and apparel for each Laurie Daley Cup and Andrew Johns Cup teams, as well as Country Rugby League’s Southern Women’s rugby league trials team.
In addition, Red will be on the Group 16 Men’s Under 23’s rugby league and Women’s League tag league jerseys. Plus, Red will support a junior coaching clinic to be known as the “Red Energy Camp” targeting talented 14 and 15-year-old rugby league players.
Under 18s rep coach Jason Kelly said it had been an age group where the Far South Coast was losing players, but the camps were helping build skills and interest as the juniors progress into senior play.
Players out of the camps have also had increased exposure to the NRL through camps with the Canberra Raiders.
‘’We are delighted to again have Red Energy as a Group 16 Rugby League sponsor, without the invaluable contributions of sponsors, such as Red, it would be extremely difficult for us to provide jerseys and ongoing support and development for our players,’’ Group 16 chairman Allan Wilton said.
Neil Thew, Regional Business Development Manager, Southern NSW for Red Energy commented, ‘’Allan and his hardworking team at Group 16 are incredible people that give their time to develop young rugby league players, both on and off the field of play. Our values at Red include teamwork, courage, decency and agility, these are exhibited by the Group 16 organisation and this is why Red Energy is proud to be associated with them”.
Mr Wilton said it was the third year the Cooma-based Red Energy had backed local league and encouraged everyone to consider signing up.
‘’It’s important that we try to make our partnerships with our sponsors a ‘win-win’ for both parties, so the more we can get behind our sponsors, the more opportunities we have for sponsor investment in the future,’’ he said.
