Bega and Merimbula McDonalds’ Mike and Bernadette Goodluck said they were “thrilled” to help support the Bega Bombers Australian Rules Football Club to help grow “grassroots sport in the area”.
Twelve-year-old player Tasman McKenzie is in her second season with the club, and said the sponsorship would help with purchasing essential equipment to help build her skills.
Club president and Women’s team coach Stephen Nicol described the $3000 deal as “enormous”.
“The fees we charge don’t cover the costs for the kids to go out on the ground,” Mr Nicol said.
“There’s also ground fees, insurance and equipment we need, like supplying new balls for each game.”
