The dedicated girls and their families managed to deliver between 3500-4000 phone books to homes and businesses from Black Range to Coopers Gully as well as Springvale to Tarraganda – and everything in between.
When the delivery company contacted Guide Leader Anne Moore (Lorikeet) and asked if the Guides would like to receive a donation for delivering the phone books, she took the offer.
“Every family did their bit,” said Ms Moore. “Some of us were delivering in lunch hours and some took on the task as a family activity.”
“We were really pleased with the result and very happy to have a substantial donation to our fund raising.”
If yours was one of the addresses on the ‘do not deliver’ list or you need extra phone books, you can pick up more at the Post Office.
Bega Girl Guides meet on Tuesdays in school term. Membership is open to girls from 5 to 17 years. For more information, contact Anne Moore on 6492 1302.
