Charlie Royale, ridden by Michael Travers was the winner of the feature Jazz Cup ride. 

Travers held on to win by a nose from runner-up Ziganui, who was quickly gaining ground on the race winner and would have been a nose in front by about 10 metres past the post. 

Officials said it was great to see some close racing on the course as visitors and locals alike were treated to the spectacle as well live jazz on the day. 

Racegoers were wowed by the live tunes, but were also greeted by a gathering of performing swing dancers, who stunned with some slick moves. 

The meet was also a good draw for punters with a full seven-race TAB card and a competitive field of starters lining up at the turf club on Sunday. 

Trainer Therese Bateup and jockey Jess Taylor made for an impressive combination on the day, taking back-to-back wins in races one, two and three to make a clean hat-trick. 

Taylor rode the aptly-named Sunday Poet to victory in the opener on the day, before saddling up for another podium finish on Tsunami Alert in the second. 

Her third run was on Jarrett to close out the win on a neat inside line to defend from a late charge by The Blues Brother ridden by Melinda Kinny. 

Their win streak was broken in race four as Aaron Sweeney picked up the honours on Claradale Lass, but Taylor still made an appearance, racing to third on Serious Moonlight.
