Year 12 student from Bega High School Lachlan Thomson is in a wheelchair but that hasn’t stopped him from taking part in a work experience program at the Merimbula Visitor Information Centre and sharing his love of the area. Lachlan will spend one day a week at the centre for the next 10 weeks getting to meet and assist visitors who come in looking for more information.

“I like telling people about local stuff. It’s a chance to talk with people and get to know them,” Lachlan said.
Lachlan has a great interest in photography and hopes to make that his career but in the meantime he was the other side of the lens helping to promote scarves and beanies knitted by KnytNats in the Merimbula Jazz Festival colours. All proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the Tathra Bushfire Appeal.
