A man accused of fatally stabbing his grandmother and critically wounding his grandfather in Bega is expected to face a second murder charge after the death of an alleged carjacking victim on Sunday.

Murray Deakin, 20, was charged with one count of murder over the alleged death of his 69-year-old grandmother on June 1. He is due to face a second murder charge in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, June 4, after the death of a 54-year-old man in hospital.
Monday’s appearance followed a brief bail hearing on Sunday on the earlier murder charge, where Deakin did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
He also faces two charges of wounding with intent to murder over injuries caused to his 71-year-old grandfather at their property in East Street, Bega and to the 54-year-old deceased man during the alleged carjacking
