Charley Goes Out was launched in early April at Candelo Books. The 59-year-old hopes the book, with its lead character Charley the echidna, will be educational to both children and also parents.
“[The inspiration] was simply the concept of creating a voice from the forest that could speak to children and adults in a way that they might listen, and learn, and think about how life is for the native animal,” Ms Gordon said.
Join Ms Gordon at the Wharf Local cafe, on the historic Tathra Wharf, from 2.30pm on Saturday, June 2. It’s a free event, with copies of Charley Goes Out for sale. While there, enjoy the tasty delights of the cafe as well.
