The Freemasons of NSW and the ACT have assisted the Tathra Lions Club in providing support for those affected by the Tathra bushfires on March 18.
Over two months about 25 lodges or orders and several brethren donated $10,450 for the cause.
It was presented to the Lions Club by the Very Worshipful Brother Bernie Alcock, district grand inspector of workings for district 49B, on May 23 at the Tathra Country Club.
Brethren of the district had agreed the money should be given to a volunteer organisation that had no administration costs and were in a position to put the funds to the best possible use.
The Freemasons chose the Lions Club as it was helping people clear their blocks, cut down dangerous trees as well as supply bedding, clothing, food and help to those in need.
