Donations have continually been handed over to the South East Local Land Services (LLS) by different animal groups from as far away as Gosford since the March 18 fires.
South East LLS district veterinarian Helen Schaefer said there is plenty of dog and cat food, chook food, collars, leads, bedding, bowls, shampoo, an abundance of treats, toys and more.
And it is not just for the bigger animals – there are even items for rabbits and guinea pigs available.
“We'd like to encourage the many that have been to please keep coming back and for those who have been reluctant - there is plenty to go around,” Ms Schaefer said.
Recent donations have come from Animal Rescue Resources – who have brought an enormous amount of food down from Sydney – as well as PetStock Ulladulla and the Macedon Ranges Obedience Dog Club.
“It’s been an amazingly generous amount,” Ms Schaefer said.
“We can’t fit it all into one room!
“There’s been tonnes of dog and cat food collected.”
She said they have had over 70 visits from people coming in to obtain products since the first call for donations.
Ms Schaefer did not receive many callouts to treat injured animals after the bushfire, saying most people had taken their cats and dogs with them when evacuating the town or had locked them inside their homes.
She said there was one case where she was asked to go check on two cats in a house, but when she got there she found the house had burnt down and the animals were nowhere to be seen.
However, in a good news story, the cats eventually returned alive and well.
The South East LLS is on the rooftop of the Sapphire Marketplace, Bega, and can be spotted by the flag out the front of its office. It is open 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
