The new shredder, which has a conveyor belt, is due to arrive at Tulgeen’s Riverside Nursery, making Tulgeen the only confidential document shredding service in the Bega Valley.
Tulgeen Shredding is one of five social enterprises operated by Tulgeen, that have been providing employment opportunities to people with disability throughout the Bega Valley for over 40 years.
Tulgeen’s other social enterprises are the Bega Valley Work Crew, Stitches and Prints, Tulgeen Packaging Services and Tulgeen’s Riverside Nursery.
“Employment is a valuable part of everyone’s lives and we at Tulgeen play a critically important role in providing opportunities for people with a disability to work in paid, meaningful employment,” Tulgeen’s enterprise manager Dave Akehurst said.
“Employment can boost self-esteem, it provides a connection with community and provides a sense of purpose. We ensure Tulgeen’s employees are satisfied and supported in each of their roles.”
Tulgeen Shredding offers delivery and pick up services on a one-off or ongoing scheduled basis and secure document bins can be delivered to workplaces for convenience.
Bega Valley residents with a NDIS plan looking for a real job in a supportive working environment are encouraged to contact Mr Akehurst at Tulgeen to explore the opportunities on offer.
