The concept is about making new from old.
Volunteers got together at Bega’s Funhouse Studio recently to help make the space’s remakery a reality.
The idea has grown in popularity with residents, makers, artists and businesses across the world in recent years.
Funhouse Studio’s Cayce Hill said the Boomerang Bags project has been popular as one of the first Funhouse Remakery initiatives.
Boomerang Bags are re-useable bags made from various recycled materials, as a means to provide a sustainable alternative to supermarket and shop plastic bags.
Once it has been set up the Funhouse Remakery will be able to be used by anyone in the region to make whatever their imagination may conjure, Ms Hill said.
The space is also looking for donations of electric and hand held tools for the remakery, she said.
Any tools can be donated to the remakery on 3 Hill St, Bega.
