Wapengo artist Lorna Zhulan is fascinated by the texture and the decaying nature of old Australian farm sheds.

“I enjoy finding beauty in what people find ugly,” Ms Zhulan said.
The painter will host an exhibition titled Sheds and Beyond at St John's Anglican Church in Bega from November 17 to 19.
Auctioned on opening night will be a painting of Bev Koellner's iconic century old horse shed on Tathra Road, after Ms Zhulan was attracted to its unique lean and corrugated iron patchwork.
She managed to photograph the shed just days before the shed was blown over during extreme winds last month.
“One day I saw this fabulous shed at Kalaru, and I stopped to photograph it,” she said.
After a long career as a vocalist, Ms Zhulan only took up painting in 2009, and moved to the Bega Valley in March this year.
“I had always wanted to, but I never had time,” she said.
“I love colour, and I like the contrast of light and shadow.
“The clear, sharp light here inspires me, because it’s so different from the city.
“It’s so fabulous.”
The exhibition kicks off at 6.30pm at St John's Anglican Church in Bega on Friday, November 17.
