The Tathra Sea Eaglettes will undoubtedly be confident ahead of Saturday’s grand final.
The minor premier women’s Aussie rules team have an almost flawless record and some of the best statistics in the league.
More importantly though, the teams knows they handed their Eden opponents a 100-point thumping just a fortnight ago.
And while Tathra has had the chance to rest any niggling injuries, the Whalers had to battle out a bruising encounter with the Pambula Panthers.
Tathra will be without star midfielder Tarni Evans after some devastating ligament damage cut her season short, but Eden also have injury woes around their star forward in Kamilla Grubesic – the league’s leading goal kicker.
While it is unfortunate for Tarni to miss the match, it won’t be game-breaking for the Sea Eaglettes, who have forged one of the most dominant midfields in the league.
Elouise Russell has hit her straps at the right end of the season with some great ball contests, while Cymmon Parker is firing on all cylinders.
Sam Crowley is another danger for the Sea Eagles, able to pull back in defence, but equally dangerous moving forward and sitting as Tathra’s highest on the goal-kicking tally.
The Sea Eaglettes have shown that Eden can struggle to match their pace, so playing on the big Pambula Sporting Complex will feed into that.
Tathra will be dangerous in open space with room to move, but after their last outing, Eden will work hard to contain the Sea Eagles.
Ladies runs at 1.10pm.
