Tathra’s Lucca Paijmans has won best film for his submission, Serum.
This is the final year Lucca was eligible to take part in the youth film festival, and he is glad to go out on a win.
“Part of me is sad that it’s over, but another part of me is relieved,” he said.
“Because I have been in the competition for so long, there has been pressure built up around me, but now I can pass the focus onto other filmmakers.”
Ruby Bichard from Pambula won best film in the under 15 age category for her animated work, When We’re Not Watching.
Lucca said Ruby’s work showed good promise for the competition going forward.
“I’ve just encouraged her to keep going and put her heart into her work, that is the main thing.”
Llew Badger of Bega won best Bega Valley film and Sam Bath of Catalina won best Eurobodalla film.
