Artist Rob Owen donated an artist recreation of a photo of himself and his daughter walking alongside the now demolished back shed of the the wharf.
Mr Owen guessed the photo was taken in about 1976.
The image was intended to be displayed at Spiral Gallery, but Mr Owen decided to gift his work to the wharf, rather than sell it through the gallery.
Mr Collins said the painting is significant to the museum because it is the first artistic recreation of the demolished back shed to be included in the collection.
“We’ve got photos and models of it, but it’s quite special to have an artist’s impression to be shown here too,” he said.
“It’s a lovely interpretation, we’re really thrilled to have it here.”
Mr Collins will have the image framed and hung in the museum where it will be available for the public to view.
