The informal visit by Senior Constable Darryn Redman gave members every opportunity to question matters relating to their driving experiences over the years.
Our visitor casually joined members for lunch, which was a very extensive and delightful effort from members. Thank you to all, with a special thank you to S/C Darryn Redman.

Pet of the Week
Flash is a very friendly one-year-old male border collie x. He really loves the company of people and other dogs, walks well on the lead, but could do with a bit more training in that area.
He knows how to sit, come, travels well in the car and will do anything to please. There is no malice in this dog but he needs a home where he will have a lot of company as he does not like being on his own. With his nature you could take him anywhere. Another dog in the family would be ideal.
For more information about Flash or one of the several wonderful dogs and cats that are also available for adoption through the Far South Coast Volunteer Branch of Animal Welfare League NSW call 0400 372 609.
Sapphire Coast Branch of RSPCA have several older cats as well as kittens available and are contactable on 0419 267 799 or through the Sapphire Coast branch of RSPCA Facebook page.
Adoption fees are subsidised for dogs and cats adopted through AWLNSW and RSPCA. All companion animals come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and vet checked.

Hidden treasures at Tura
Tura Marrang library is offering a day of discovery for people to explore one of the most unique ecosystems in the Bega Valley and the chance to pick up a free native tree on Saturday, June 17, starting at 10.30am.
Participants will have the chance to uncover the amazing hidden treasures of flora and fauna in our backyard.
Programs and Partnerships Officer, Scott Baker, said there would be experts available on the day to talk about programs focusing on understanding and protecting the Glossy Black Cockatoo, Potoroos and other rare flora and fauna.
“At 12pm, conservation experts will lead a walking tour of the local reserves around Tura Beach and will be able to give advice on how all of us can help conserve and protect our natural wonders,” he said.
The walking tour will be limited to 20 participants so bookings are essential. Walkers must wear appropriate footwear and provide their own sun protection.
Bookings for the walking tour and the talks can be made at www.begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au or by phoning Tura Marrang library on 6499 2340.
Sounds of Taiko drumming
The earthy sound of drumming pulsed through the Bega Valley over the June long weekend as local group Stonewave Taiko joined with internationally acclaimed taiko duo YuNiOn for a three-day winter intensive.
This follows on from their collaboration at the National Folk Festival over Easter. The performances at the National were played to a full house in the famous Budawang Auditorium and were a highlight for many across the Easter weekend as well as being an incredible experience for the players.
“There must be something very special about the Bega Valley. We love working with such a dedicated group of players… who are constantly challenging and improving their technique and skills” said Graham Hildendorf of YuNiOn.
Anyone who attended the ‘Thunder and Waves’ Concert at the Bega Valley Commemorative Centre (BVCC) last November, will appreciate the power and energy that Stonewave Taiko and YuNiOn bring to the stage.
The winter intensive, held at the Sapphire Coast Anglican College, has been the starting ground for the group to learn new rhythm, dance and song material for the next planned concert, to be held in the Bega Valley Commemorative Centre on Saturday, November 11, 2017.
