Anzac mounted troops to tour south-east towns

Four riders from the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Charitable Trust will join troopers from the Australian Light Horse Association Bemboka Troop and Snowy Mountains' Horse Riders Association to tour Snowy Monaro towns on Monday.

The riders are part of Project TAHI (“as one” in Maori) an initiative of the Snowy River RSL Sub-Branch to emphasise the New Zealand aspects of Anzac history and tradition by involving New Zealand elements in the area’s 2017 Anzac Day commemorations.

The TAHI contingents intend to lay wreaths at each venue and under the direction of the hosts, the public and interested groups are encouraged to take part.

On Monday, riders will lay wreaths at war memorials in Bemboka and Bombala followed by a light lunch.
