The Gulaga Dancers led the street parade and Warren Foster Snr did the Welcome to Country.
The official ribbon cutting for 32nd Tilba festival was done by Erica Dibden of the Tilba Real Dairy, who was introduced by festival committee president Kelly Eastwood.
Ms Eastwood said she was pleased with the crowd in the morning and praised her 10-person committee for their hard work.
“It’s taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears from the committee,” she said.
All but two of the committee were new and had worked on organising the event since August.
In addition to the traditional egg throwing, boot toss and cheese rolling, a new addition this year was the donut eating contest.
Ms Eastwood also brought back the cooking demonstrations featuring local chefs and produce, as it proved very popular last year.
