Born at 7.09pm on Tuesday, January 3, weighing just 2.03 kilograms, the newborn is the first child for father Kendall Bate and mother Heather Clark of Glen Mia Estate in Bega, and new sister to William and Jessica.
For 34-year-old Ms Clark and 35-year-old Mr Bate, having their daughter be the first born in the New Year made the event just that little bit more special.
“It’s pretty groovy,” Ms Clark said with a big smile.
The couple thanked South East regional Hospital maternity ward staff, their dedicated midwives and Dr Glenn Davies who helped deliver the newborn.
The couple said the outside landscape, worked into the design of the hospital, had added to the experience.
“It is nice to be by nature,” Ms Clark said.
“It is relaxing,” Mr Bate added.
The pair moved to Bega from Narooma last year to run a local plumbing business.
