The TFWR is located in bushland areas behind Tathra and is a crown land reserve managed by a group of volunteers.
It includes walking trails that enable users to appreciate the diverse native fauna and natural environments which range from casuarina forests, wetlands and rainforests to open woodlands.
“Funding provided will enable urgent boardwalk repairs to be undertaken that is outside the capacity of volunteers,” TFWR volunteer Shannon Brennan said.
“Repair works will be undertaken over coming months and there may be periods where sections of the trail are closed to undertake these repair works.
“This will improve safety and accessibility for users and improve protection to wetland habitats.
“It will also complement new signage that has recently been installed at both the Thompsons Road carpark and Dilkera Street entrances to the reserve.”
The trust meets every few months for working bees with the next one on Sunday, November 8 at 9am meeting at the Dilkera St entrance behind the Tathra Beach Bowling Club.
Anyone is welcome to join.
