Pedal power launches Wharf to Waves: PHOTOS

ABOUT 120 cyclists took to the streets of Tarraganda before sweeping off through some scenic bushland on a 30km journey to the Tathra Surf LIfe Saving Club on Saturday night.

Organisers said the figures were similar to last year and measured a good mix of visitors and locals alike.

As in previous years the message was clear: this is not a race.

Safety was paramount for officials and a number of volunteers were set around the course to ensure the safety of every rider taking part.

Despite the non-competitive nature of the ride, some of the youngsters showed up the field as they reached the Tathra bridge in 44 minutes.

The body of the group was a little further behind, but most comfortably finished the ride in under two hours.
