Riuel Umback finished off a fine movement, dashing over to score and extend the Chicks’ lead to 14-0 after Kezie Apps’ conversion.
Bega’s first half blitz continued with Pearce and Bower-Scott both collecting their second four-pointers, and Apps converting the later try on the halftime bell for a 24-0 lead.
It was a resolute Eden Tigerettes that came out in the second half, and they restricted Bega to two tries, with the only points coming from tries to Tegan Mundy and Kezie Apps, and one Apps conversion.
It finished 34-0, with Pearce and Bower-Scott the Chicks’ best, and Hayley Jessop and Tegan Mundy also turning in busy performances.
The Chicks went into the game without prolific point-scorer and Captain Joccooa Rogers, and team manager Trudi Badullovich was impressed with the side’s all-round team performance, Badullovich was also full of praise for referee Leigh Hennessey, who showed he has a great understanding of the rules of league tag, and when his playing days are finally over, she believes he will make a great middle man.
