CYCLING 670km is certainly “tough” says Ian Cross.
Mr Cross is fundraising for SIDS and Kids with a bike ride from Canberra to Bega.
He is due to finish the trip three years to the day since his grandson Lachie died due to SIDS.
He started his trip in Canberra on June 21 and will finish in Bega at lunchtime on Friday, which also happens to be Red Nose Day.
He has passed through Jindabyne, Bombala, and Orbost so far, but it has not been easy.
“I had to pull up short on Monday and Tuesday as the weather was just atrocious,” he said.
He is now back on track to meet his target, as he was in Cann River on Wednesday and riding to Eden on Thursday.
Mr Cross was positive the rest of the trip will be better, as he said the weather had been improving.
A barbecue for Mr Cross will be held outside Bega Dan Murphy's when he arrives in town.
