Last weekend was wet and wild which meant numbers were down at Saturday and Sunday’s weigh-ins.
But for a couple of those who did venture out in these unpleasant conditions, it was well worth their efforts.
With the end of the club’s competition season quickly approaching, Mark Reminis and Jason Smith are making the leader board an interesting “must watch”.
Fishing different categories, their end of weekend results were impressive and also close.
Mark, who fished the small boats category, bagged out with flathead on Saturday and with salmon on Sunday, giving him a total tally of 17.88 kilograms of fish. The estuary contender, Jason, whose catch was predominantly bream and snapper, tabled a grand total of 18.54 kilograms.
Jack Reminis, who was the only junior to weigh-in, bagged out on salmon.
His biggest was 2.38 kilograms, which places him on the biggest of species board.
Species of fish caught were flathead, snapper, bream, tailor, salmon and trevally.
Biggest weekend catch went to Jason.
Mystery pairs was won by Mark and Jason.
Jack took home the junior prize voucher.
The next general meeting will be held on Sunday, April 27.
Next fish out May 3 and 4.
