They will be sleeping under the stars in Littleton Gardens to raise awareness for Youth off the Streets and homeless youth in our region.
Organiser Jesse Neyle said he and members of the Bega Valley Youth Council will be taking part – as well as probably several of their friends – in the sleep-out.
“We originally went with Youth off the Streets, but then decided to collaborate 50/50 with local charities so we are helping Australia but helping the Bega Valley as well,” Jesse said.
Statistics show the Bega Valley has the third-highest level of youth homelessness in the state behind only Sydney and Wollongong.
Jesse thanked the Youth Council for its support as well as Mal’s Pizza Bite for its input.
Those wishing to lend their support to the young campers can join them for a gold coin donation breakfast from 8am Thursday in Littleton Gardens courtesy of Bega Rotary.
