Over 180 people had already registered for this fun family friendly event at Pambula Sporting Complex, which this year had a “P Party” theme.
Participants had already raised over $18,000 for this Cancer Council NSW event.
Around 500 people attended last year’s relay and $56,000 was raised for Cancer Council research.
However on Friday morning Cancer Council NSW community relations coordinator Sarah Flynn announced poor weather had forced a cancellation.
“It’s with a heavy heart we’ve had to postpone our planned Bega Valley Relay For Life this weekend at the Pambula Sports Ground, due to the weather making the grounds unsafe and unusable,” Ms Flynn said.
“The volunteer committee is incredible disappointed as are all teams and supporters of the event.
“As yet we do not have a new date for the event but will be sure to let everyone know once the decision has been made.
“If you are a team captain or member can let the rest of your team know.
“Should you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact the Cancer Council NSW Bega office on 6492 1805,” she said.
