A steady stream of bargain hunters meandered through the Bega Showground on Saturday morning, snapping up deals on children’s clothes and toys, handicrafts, second-hand tools, musical instruments and everything in between.
While a total fundraising figure was still to be finalised, the Bega Pre-School fundraising committee said the day was a great success and thanked everyone for their support.
Thirty-five stallholders paid $20 each for the opportunity to offload their wares, while the fundraising cake stall and barbecue both sold out before the sale wound up around 2pm - a tidy windfall for the pre-school.
“We’d like to thank all the parents and volunteers for their help on the day,” fundraising committee spokeswoman Tanya Tomlinson said.
“We’d also like to thank Woolies, the Bega Showground Trust and Mr Pizza.
“A special mention goes to Helen Slater who went above and beyond on the day, spruiking our cake stall and selling raffle tickets.”
