A Surf Beach woman is in critical condition at Canberra Hospital after a two-car crash just south of Batemans Bay on Sunday morning, December 13. A Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue spokesperson said crews from Batemans Bay and Moruya Fire and Rescue, and SES volunteers were called about 9.20am to extract the woman. On Monday morning, Batemans Bay Police Acting Inspector Tim Winkelman said the 36-year-old, the sole occupant of a Mazda 323, was in critical condition. The hatchback collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser towing a caravan. The three occupants of the Land Cruiser were uninjured and the driver took mandatory blood and urine testing. Paramedics treated the woman before taking her to hospital. Police, Batemans Bay RFS and a tow truck were at the scene. A Croakers Towing Batemans Bay spokesperson said the accident was cleared by 3.45pm.
