Our Urbanism & Planning team in Melbourne are currently looking for a Senior Urban Planner to lead diverse projects and build their planning skills within a multi-disciplinary environment. This role will involve project leadership, budget management, team collaboration, client communications, preparing planning advice, managing permit applications, drafting reports and working alongside various technical advisory teams and major projects.
This role will assist in winning, securing and delivering major transport, infrastructure and urban planning projects. You will manage and play a key technical role in large multi-disciplinary projects and be part of a highly skilled and diverse planning team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading and managing your own projects from concept to delivery;
Investigation, analysis and development of strategy, development facilitation and approvals (Planning Scheme Amendments, Planning permits, Land Use Impact Assessments);
Preparing planning advice and client communications on a wide range of project types;
Working within set criteria, deadlines, budget and with a commercial orientated outcome;
Being actively involved in bid development and preparing winning bid strategies.
As suitable Urban Planner in our Melbourne office you will be able to provide some or all of the following:
Obtained tertiary qualifications in urban planning or a related/relevant field of study;
Strong and proven understanding of the Victorian planning system and reform directions;
Demonstrated experience leading project bids and project teams;
Excellent written and verbal skills, alongside presentation and organisational skills;
Proven background in managing deadlines, budget and with a commercial orientated outcome;
An ability to show initiative and manage projects independently while partnering with clients;
Utilising proven project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines;
Excellent liaison and interpersonal skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Prior urban planning or private consultancy experience preferred but not essential.
