Your new company

A rare opportunity has become available for an energetic and passionate psychologist to join an Independent School on a 12-month maternity contract, open to becoming permanent. The school caters for students from early years to year 12, and encourages them to be inquisitive, respectful, lifelong learners. The school’s management team are also passionate about students realising their potential academically, socially, and spiritually. If successful, you will be part of their Welfare Team in the Primary School.

Your new role

In your new role you will provide counselling support to students. Alongside the Welfare Team, you will work to optimise the psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing of students in a proactive and supportive manner. You will provide assessments by utilising various tools and methodologies to understand students’ needs and make recommendations accordingly. Additionally, you will provide seminars and expert advice on mental health and wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You must have a Tertiary level qualification in Psychology and AHPRA registration.
  • Working with Children’s Check.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of counselling children and adolescents.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong information and communication technology skills.
